As the sun sets, the luminaries begin to light up Soldiers Ground.

The next day, Confederate Memorial Day Magnolia takes place
 


Secession camp Color Guard posts at the monument


Re-enactors from the 10th SCVI and the 27th SCVI post to the left of the monument


Every year the old flags are retired and news ones placed on the poles at Soldiers Ground. Secession Camp members lower the old flags to replace with new ones.


Compatriots Mike Dixon and his son Joey fold one of the retired flags. The old flags are used in fund raising for Heritage projects.
