The 2022 Reunion will be at Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville, Georgia

Hosted by: William J. Hardee Camp #1397 and Kennesaw Battlefield Camp# 700

 

There will be Three Days of Battlefield Tours following the 1864 Atlanta Campaign (pictured). The tour will feature some of the most intact trenches and fortifications in the country. The climax comes on the fourth day when we’ll see the 1886 Cyclorama The Battle of Atlanta.

July 19, Chickamauga Dinner & Presentation

Gourmet Dinner at the CBCC with an in depth presentation of the Battle of Chickamauga by Historian and Tour Guide Jim Ogden to compliment the Chickamauga Battlefield tour the next day.

Jim Ogden, Chief Historian at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, 1988 to present, Jim is an historian, teacher, and tour guide.

July 20, Battlefield Tour of Chickamauga.

This battlefield tour is the longest in our series of tours. Chief Historian and guide Jim Ogden will be giving the same detailed battlefield tour he gives the Army Officers Corps from Fort Bragg. The  battlefield tour will include a detail description of the troop movements and areas of importance that ended the battle with a major Confederate victory and a lost opportunity.

Box lunch included.

 

July 20, A Southern Tea

Before the War, Southern ladies took pleasure in entertaining friends and family, so dress in your “Sunday Best” (Hats & Fascinators encouraged but not required) and accompany us for an elegant and relaxing Afternoon High Tea. We won’t be under the shade of old plantation oaks but in a lovely private room of the Tea Leaves and Thyme teahouse in historic Woodstock.

 

July 20, Resaca Dinner & Presentation

At the The Booth Museun.

Gourmet Dinner, museum admission and presentation of the Atlanta Campaign from Dalton to Resaca by Historian Robert Jenkins. Museum guests are invited to See America’s Story through contemporary Western artwork, a Presidential Gallery, a Civil War art gallery and an interactive children’s gallery.

Robert D. Jenkins, Sr. Esq. Historian, Tour Guide and local authority of the Atlanta Campaign with an emphasis on  Ringgold Gap, Dalton and Resaca. He has written many books about the Atlanta Campaign.

July 21, Battlefield Tour of Resaca,  Ringgold Gap and Dalton.

This tour will include two major battlefields, Ringgold Gap where General Patrick Cleburne successfully halted the Union army advances and the battle of Resaca where General Joe Johnston held the union forces to make a strategic withdraw to Kennesaw Mountain fortifications. The tour will also include historical areas of interest in Dalton.

Lunch included.

 

July 21, Kennesaw Mountain Dinner & Presentation at Savoy Automobile Museum.

Gourmet Dinner, museum admission and presentation of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain to the Battle of Atlanta by Historian Keith Bohannon. Guests visiting the Savoy Automobile Museum will be met with an assortment of automobiles and original works of art.

Keith Bohannon – Dr. Keith Bohannon (Ph.D.) professor of history at the University of West Georgia and Tour Guide. He teaches classes on the Old South, Jacksonian America, and U.S. Civil War.

 

July 21, 2022, A Day in 1850 Cartersville

Experience historic Cartersville as we enjoy a tour of the stately 1859 Rose Lawn House. Located in the historic district, beautiful Rose Lawn encompasses more than four acres of manicured grounds. Led by knowledgeable Southern ladies, we will enjoy a leisurely guided tour of the lovely, period rooms of Rose Lawn House, as well as tours of the rose gardens and carriage house on the grounds surrounding the historic home.

 

July 22, Battlefield Tours of Kennesaw Mountain, Cheatham Hill & Marietta Confederate Cemetery.

This tour will take you to Kennesaw Mountain  National Battle field Park Museum and to Cheatham Hill battlefield to walk the original  Confederate earthworks and trenches to the climax point of the battle at the dead angle. The tour will then stop at the Marietta Confederate Cemetery the largest South of Richmond.

July 22, 2022, Gone With The Wind Tour

Join us as we travel to historic Marietta to visit the Gone With The Wind Museum located in the 1851 Brumby Hall. The charming museum houses an extensive
collection of memorabilia relating to the world’s most beloved book and Hollywood movie. A trip to Marietta would not be complete without shopping on the historic square. We’ll visit Park West Vintage, a large antique mall originally built in the 1800s as a feed and seed store. To complete our tour, we will pay our respects at the Marietta Confederate Cemetery, the final resting place of more than 3,000 Confederate Soldiers.

 

July 23,Tour of the Cyclorama of the Battle of Atlanta at the Atlanta History Museum.

Personalize tour of the restored 1886 cyclorama of the Battle of Atlanta by Curator Dr. Gordon Jones at the Atlanta History Center and museum where you can also see the actual locomotive the Texas from the Great Locomotive Chase and many other items.

Admission & box lunch included.
