The US Senate has reconvened and a top priority will include passing a 2020-21 budget bill.
This includes bill HR 7608.

Buried deep within this 727 page bill is legislation that directs the National Park Service to remove from display all Confederate commemorative works, such as statues, monuments, sculptures, memorials, and plaques, from all National Parks within 180 days of the law’s enactment.

The offensive provisions are found under the following Divisions: DIVISION C—DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, ENVIRONMENT, AND RELATED AGENCIES APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 2021, SEC. 441, 442, 443 & DIVISION D—MILITARY CONSTRUCTION, VETERANS AFFAIRS, AND RELATED AGENCIES APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 2021, SEC. 130.

I strongly encourage each of you to call, email, and write to the United States Senators on the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations:

Senate Appropriations Committee Members, and respectfully request that they remove these offensive sections from the bill. It is best to specifically name the offensive sections in your letters and emails. Senator Lindsey Graham is on this committee. If this bill passes, Confederate history will be erased from Civil War Battlefields and National Park Service property across the country. We simply cannot allow this to happen without a fight!
