Another Great Lee-Jackson Banquet
Secession Camp 4 held its annual Lee-Jackson Banquet on Saturday, January 17th at the American Legion Post in Goose Creek. This year’s guest speaker was South Carolina Division 8th Brigade Commander Chris Sweatman. Commander Sweatman gave an excellent PowerPoint presentation on the lives of General Robert E. Lee and General Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson. Special thanks are in order for all of the hard work of our banquet organizer, 1st Lt. Commander Kevin Cunningham.
As usual Compatriot Don Pace and his cooking crew produced a fine meal but one of the main features was the swearing-in of new Camp officers. Our officers for the 2026-2028 two-year term are Commander Michael Dixon, 1st Lt. Commander Kevin Cunningham, 2nd Lt. Commander Jeff Sineath, Adjutant David Rentz, Treasurer Cain Griffin, Color Sgt. William Sharbrough, and Chaplain Paul Murray.
The other main feature of these banquets is the awarding of this year’s Camp awards. The White Star Award winner was Compatriot Charles Fox. The Brigadier General Johnson Hagood Award was presented to 1st Lt. Commander Kevin Cunningham, and the Compatriot of the Year Award winner was Chaplain Paul Murray. Congratulations to all these deserving men! We can all look forward to another fine year at Secession Camp.
